Stellar Bariatric Hybrid FiC (Foam in Cell) System is a dynamic alternating mattress replacement system for heavier patients, combining high specification static foam technology integrated inside powered, alternating, air cells to create a highly effective pressure ulcer prevention system that can be used with, or without, a pump.
The Stellar Bariatric Hybrid FiC (Foam in Cell) is a dynamic alternating mattress replacement system combining high specification foam technology integrated inside dynamic alternating air cells designed for the heavier patient weight. The maximum user weight in 380kg.
The mattress can be used in two modes; static mode without the need for a power unit providing protection to patients at risk of developing an ulcer/pressure injury or in
dynamic alternating mode by simply adding the power unit when a higher level of treatment is required for those considered to be up to Very High Risk of developing pressure injuries. Both modes provide pressure redistribution minimising high peak pressures under vulnerable areas of the patient’s skin.
The ‘Foam-inside- Cell’ structure provides an exceptionally comfortable and stable support surface for the patient, in both static and powered modes.
There are 3 specifically designed foam sections for head, body and heels and Flexi-Foam edges for ease of use on profiling beds.
The pump is Fully automatic power for ease of use, simplifying set up, minimising potential user error and time required for training. The pump has a low noise level minimising patient disruption. However due to the Intelligent Pressure Sensor, the compressor switches off once the compressor reaches its internal pressure. It will only start running again when a drop in pressure is identified or there is a cycle change. This results in the pump being virtually silent for majority of time. It has a 1 in 2 (10 minute) cycle time.
Other key features include cable management system , Multi-Stretch, Vapour Permeable High Comfort Cover and is easy to clean and decontaminate supporting infection control needs.
It has a full set of audible and visual alarms and a Troubleshooting guide on the power unit enabling caregivers to rectify issues quickly and easily.
The dimensions are 200cm x 120cm x 20cm enabling it to fit most bariatric profiling beds. The maximum user weight is 250kg. The Stellar Bariatric system can accommodate heavier patients.
