Supplier checks
When the average care service needs more than 30 suppliers, doing all the necessary checks on those suppliers’ paperwork can become a monumental task. That’s why Wippet does it for you.
Suppliers on Wippet must complete a series of checks involving supplying information, documentation and certification to ensure that if there’s a supplier on Wippet that it’s a supplier you can trust.
Our supplier checks have two initial levels with a third coming soon. Each level is indicated by a blue, silver or gold shield:
Blue shield symbol
| A blue shield means this supplier has passed all Wippet’s standard checks. These include: Company registration, VAT registration, GDPR compliance, Privacy Policy, Health and Safety Policy, DBS for staff and contractors visiting on site, employer’s liability insurance (min. £1m cover), Public liability insurance (where applicable - min. £1m cover), Professional indemnity insurance (where applicable - min. £1m cover), Product insurance cover (min. £1m cover). |
Silver shield symbol | A silver shield indicates that the supplier has passed all the standard checks but also the following additional checks: business continuity planning, equal opportunities and human rights policies, modern slavery policy (companies over £36m) Ethical trading policy, Quality Management, ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, ISO, 27001 |
Gold shield symbol | A gold shield is awarded to suppliers who, in additional to passing standard and additional checks, have achieved among the highest customer ratings for quality of service and reliability. |
